The Fischer Panda CAN bus »fpCAN« has been completely integrated into the Victron GX system. This provides control and monitoring of the Fischer Panda Genset using the Victron Color Control GX, Venus GX or Cerbo GX. Furthermore, it is possible to monitor and control the Fischer Panda Genset via a Marine MFD.
The »fpControl CAN Interface – SAE J1939« (fpControl CI-SAE J1939) manages the communication between the »fpCAN« and an external SAE J1939-CAN-BUS.
In the fpControl system, the fpCAN is used for the communication between the system components.
Some MFDs are able to display generator data like AC voltage, AC current, AC frequency and AC power using the NMEA 2000® or J1939 network. Fischer Panda Generators equipped with xControl, iControl2 or fpControl can be connected with an NMEA 2000® network using the »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« (fpControl CI-NMEA 2000®). In this way, the generator data can be displayed on the MFD. But not all MFDs support all relevant PGNs.
Generators equipped with xControl, iControl2 or fpControl can be connected to the VE.CAN from Victron Energy. The connection is established via the »fpControl CAN Interface – SAE J1939«.

The »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« is a gateway for integrating fpCAN-equipped Fischer Panda generators with an NMEA 2000® network. The »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« converts fpCAN messages to NMEA 2000® messages so you can monitor your Fischer Panda Generator with NMEA 2000® displays.
In order to monitor the level of the diesel fuel in the tank, you can integrate a tank sensor with SAE J1939-CAN interface in the fpCAN. The tank sensor sends the filling level of the diesel tank in percent on the CAN bus.
With the J1939 CAN interface, you can start and stop the generator via a CAN message. In this example you will activate the automatic start mode using the proprietary PGN PROPA00 (PGN 61184) and the RPC ID 0x0012. After this you will start the generator using PROPA00 as well. But in this case using the RPC ID 0x009c.
