Product description

The »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« manages the communication between the »fpCAN« and an external NMEA 2000® network. The interface protects the internal »fpCAN« by filtering the data from the external NMEA 2000® network. The »fpCAN« and the NMEA 2000® network are galvanically isolated. The »fpControl CI NMEA 2000®« is powered by the »fpCAN«.

Pin assignment of »FP CAN BUS 2«

Alternative connection for the external NMEA 2000® network, RJ45 socket. The »FP CAN BUS 2« is parallel connected to the »USER CAN BUS«. It can be used to connect the NMEA 2000® network via RJ45 plug.

The external CAN Bus must be terminated. This can be achieved by a terminating resistor in the second RJ45 socket.

Rotary coding switch

The rotary coding switch is used to add an offset to the start address for the address claiming process.

Default setting: Rotary coding switch in position »0«. No offset is added to the start address.

Alternative Setting: Rotary coding switch in a position not equal to »0«: [start address] = [position of the rotary coding switch] * 16.


DIP switch

The DIP switch is reserved for future projects.
