Introduction to the topic
The servo motor moves between the position in which the generator is stopped (stop position) and the position in which the generator operates at full load. In the application software, default values for the stop position, the start position, the idle position and the position at full load are stored depending on the generator type.
Objective of the procedure
You can adjust the default values for these four positions in the “actuator-setup” menu.
Requirement
You must enter the service password or have admin rights while the function is being called.
Function call
Select in the menu service > enter service-code > actuator-setup.
Software concept
The actuator setup consists of four pages. On each side you can adjust one of the positions for the servomotor. On an additional page, you can save your customizations.

Displays and controls
| Softkey | Function |
| — | Decreases the current position “curr. pos.” by 500. |
| – | Decreases the current position “curr. pos.” by 50. |
| + | Increases the current position “curr. pos.” by 50. |
| ++ | Increases the current position “curr. pos.” by 500. |
| ok | Confirm the current value of “curr. pos.” and skip to the next page of the actuator setup. A changed value will be saved in the EEPROM in the step “Save settings?”. |
| skip | Skip to the next page of the actuator setup, changed values are not stored in the EEPROM |
| cancel | Leave actuator setup, changed values are not stored in the EEPROM. |
| Hardkey | Function |
![]() | Use the panel’s arrow-up key to move up through the softkeys on one side of the actuator setup. |
![]() | Use the arrow-down key to move down through the softkeys on one side of the actuator setup. |
![]() | Use the start/stop key to execute the action of the selected softkey. |
Parameters
| stop position | Position to which the servomotor moves to stop the generator. |
| start position | Position to which the servomotor moves when the generator is started. |
| pos @zero load | Position of the servomotor at idle. |
| pos @full load | Position of the servomotor at full load. |
| Save settings? | Saves the adjusted positions of the four previous pages in the EEPROM. |
| saved pos. | Position value stored in EEPROM. |
| curr. pos. | Current value of the position, you can adjust this value live using the (+/-) softkeys. |
| RPM | Current revolution speed of the diesel engine in [RPM]. If you adjust the position of the servo motor while the generator is running, you can directly observe the effect on the revolution speed. |
Rule for setting the parameters
![]() position @full load > start position > position @zero load > stop position |
