Causes and solutions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The diesel engine is not cooled sufficiently. This can have different causes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common causes<\/strong><\/td>Possible solutions<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
Air in the cooling system<\/td>Bleed the cooling system<\/td><\/tr>
Not enough cooling water in the cooling system, maybe the cooling system is leaky<\/td>Check the cooling system for possible leaks and close if necessary. Also check the cooling water pump and the water-cooled silencer for leaks.<\/td><\/tr>
The impeller in the impeller pump is defective (with marine generators only)<\/td>Check the impeller pump<\/td><\/tr>
The V-belt is defective<\/td>Check if the V-belt is cracked. If not, check if the V-belt still has enough tension<\/td><\/tr>
The fan is defective, maybe a fan blade is jammed (with vehicle generators only)<\/td>Check the function of the fan and the condition of its fan blades<\/td><\/tr>
A blocked or dirty heat exchanger can cause an overheating<\/td>Check the heat exchanger and clean it if necessary<\/td><\/tr>
Temperature sensor not present, loose contact, cable break<\/td>– Connect the temperature sensor,
– Check the plug connection for loose contact,
– Check the wiring of the sensor for cable breaks<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
