We specify 100 A for small inverters. This current is permitted when e. g. electronic chargers are switched on. Most electronic devices have capacitors built in that draw a very high current when switched on. This current is limited to approximately 100 A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It looks very different with electric motors. In principle, the internal combustion engine can never deliver more energy than it is available for it. If an electric motor has a starting current of 75 A, this only works because the motor has a low CosPhi when starting and the required mechanical power is lower than it would be with a CosPhi of 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"56\" height=\"56\" class=\"wp-image-2536\" style=\"width: 56px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/knowledgebase.fischerpanda.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/information_sbu_transparent_52px.png\"><br>It cannot be said broadly whether a generator starts something or not. It depends largely on the consumer and not on the generator. <br><strong>For electronic consumers we have an inrush current of 100 A.<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Example for an air conditioner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An air conditioning system has a starting current of 50A:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>230 V * 50 A = 11.500 W<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In theory, the Panda 5000i would not be able to start the air conditioning, but since asynchronous motors have a low CosPhi when starting, it still works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s assume that the engine has a CosPhi of 0.35 when starting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>230 V * 50 A = 11500 VA * 0.35 = 4025 W<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inverter has to carry the 50 A but it can do 100 A \u25ba OK.<br>The internal combustion engine has a power of 4400 W \u25ba OK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now the same with a CosPhi of 0.5:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>230 V * 50 A = 11500 VA * 0.5 = 5750 W<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inverter is still OK since the current is 50 A and the maximum current is 100 A.<br>The internal combustion engine has only 4400 W available but 5750 W are required.<br>This application will most likely not work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"Download a PDF on this topic.
