This address is ranging from 0 to 251 and is used to <strong>control communication between devices<\/strong> and ensure that data is sent to the correct recipients.<br>Note that the NMEA 2000\u00ae addresses are <strong>assigned automatically<\/strong> when a device joins the network and <strong>may change<\/strong> when new devices are added or removed.<br><br>The <strong>NMEA 2000\u00ae instance number<\/strong> is used to <strong>distinguish multiple identical devices on the network<\/strong>. For example, if you have two Fischer Panda generators, each would be given a different instance number to distinguish them from each other. The NMEA 2000\u00ae instance numbers are <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/knowledgebase.fischerpanda.de\/?knowledgebase=nmea-2000-settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">manually configured<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>remain constant<\/strong> unless manually changed.<br><br><strong>In summary:<\/strong> The NMEA 2000\u00ae address is used for unique identification and communication in the network, while the NMEA 2000\u00ae instance number is used to distinguish between multiple identical devices.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr
