Generators equipped with xControl, iControl2 or fpControl can be connected to the VE.CAN from Victron Energy. The connection is established via the »fpControl CAN Interface – SAE J1939«.
The »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« is a gateway for integrating fpCAN-equipped Fischer Panda generators with an NMEA 2000® network. The »Communication Interface CI – NMEA 2000®« converts fpCAN messages to NMEA 2000® messages so you can monitor your Fischer Panda Generator with NMEA 2000® displays.
In order to monitor the level of the diesel fuel in the tank, you can integrate a tank sensor with SAE J1939-CAN interface in the fpCAN. The tank sensor sends the filling level of the diesel tank in percent on the CAN bus.
You can update the software of the generator control »fpControl Generator Control – Servo« (fpControl GC-S) and the software of the bus modules on the fpCAN. For this purpose, the software update files are transferred to the »fpControl GC-S«, which distributes the updates to the other bus modules.
You can use the additional start function “inverter softstart” to avoid problems when starting large electrical loads. If this function is activated, the inverter carries out measures at start-up to limit the power when switching on the loads (softstart).
In order to check whether the inverter causes a fault, it is often a first test to start the generator without an inverter. The function “Start without inverter” (start w/o inverter) is an additional start function for this use case. It simulates the engine revolution so that the generator can be started without inverter in case of service.
You can set the charging curve parameters of the battery loader. This is necessary to adapt the battery loader to different battery types.
The generator control fpControl offers two multifunctional outputs. You can configure the function of these digital outputs in the service menu of the control panel. This is useful, for example, to extend the functionality of the generator control. For each of the two outputs several profiles are available.
You can set the generator type code in service menu of the control panel. This is necessary to adapt the generator control fpControl to different generator types.
The servo motor moves between the position in which the generator is stopped (stop position) and the position in which the generator operates at full load. In the application software, default values for the stop position, the start position, the idle position and the position at full load are stored depending on the generator type. You can adjust the default values for these four positions in the “actuator-setup” menu.
